Book Donation , Chiang Mai University Library

Objective :

   Chiang Mai University Library creates this online donation service to

1. Supply information resources complying with university study programs.

2. Save budget on library materials supply.

3. Facilitate a person and organizations intending to donate information resources to the library. 

Book Donation Guidelines :

   The library is subjected to accept some donated materials .

Consideration of book donation :

   Donation request will be considered based on

1.       Book contents:

-         Comply with university studying programs.

-         Have inclusive contents about 17 provinces in Northern Thai: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kamphaeng Phet, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Nakhon Sawan, Nan, Phayao, Phetchabun, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phare, Sukhothai, Tak, Uthai Thani and Uttaradit.

-         Consist of the information on “Greater Mekong Sub-Region : GMS”  and  ASEAN

-         Have a positive content that is not harmful to national security, stability, morality and tradition.

-         Have a content associated with Thai royalty, sufficiency economy and the Royal-initiated.

-         Be award-winning and/or bestseller books.

2.       Authors:

-         Be expertise in each field.

-         Be trustworthy

3.       Editions:

The library accepts the latest editions of books/ information resources except historical and cultural books that the consideration will be based on the content of books.

4.       Others:

-         Rare or special edition books/ information resources produced by national or international organizations, institutes, and associations with non-commercial objective or emphasis.

The library does not accept :

1.       Any items besides aforementioned list.

2.       Books damaged by dust, dirt stain, fire, water, or books with damaged binding or pages, missing covers or pages, excessive writing or highlighting.

3.       Any items beyond the library’s service condition.





Agreement :

      Consideration will be based on the condition and the content of the material, similar donated books/ information resources will be similarly categorized and located or given away to other organizations.

     The library reserves the right to accept or decline items for service in the library as well as the authority to review and utilize all donated items for the highest benefit of the library.

-         On site donation: Please bring donated items to Collection and Development Section

-         Postal donation: Please fill in donation form completely and send your materials to the following

Remarks :

1.       Donated items will be selected and evaluated by librarians.

2.       The library will timely issue thank-you letter for donation to individual and/or organizational donors, if required.
