A case study on the E-learning program in the Cicely School District.


Description

Every year in the United States 30% of our students drop out of high school and fail to get any type of diploma or equivalent. This is a strain on our society as well as causes problems for the individual students. Cicely School District developed an E-Learning program to address this problem for their at-risk students. The purpose of this study was to identify the perceptions of students who had successfully completed this program as to why they were successful in the alternative program rather than the traditional setting. Students who had graduated from the E -Learning program were interviewed and their personal biographies were reviewed. The study overwhelmingly concluded that the teachers, and the individual attention and time devoted to students in the program, were the main reason for student success.
